Match for 5,000 Meals
Donors Jennifer Dickey and Andrew Huang are offering a generous $10,000 match to benefit Meals on Wheels Metro Boise. “Match for Meals” means you can double the impact of your gift up to $10,000 through March, culminating with the annual March for Meals on March 29.

Jennifer and Andrew have been faithful supporters of Meals on Wheels Metro Boise, and Jennifer delivers meals to homebound seniors. “We’ve been aware of Meals on Wheels for decades, and while we understood the need in our community for this service, we didn’t know as much about the on-the-ground impact until a neighbor received meals,” stated Jennifer. “The meals allowed her to remain in her home, and sometimes the people delivering her meals were the only people she would see in a day. Meals on Wheels made an enormous difference in her quality of life.”
All donations made to Meals on Wheels Metro Boise during the month of March will be matched, up to $10,000. The $20,000 match total would mean 5,000 hot, nutritious meals for local homebound seniors.
“We are extremely grateful to Jennifer and Andrew for such incredible, impactful generosity,” emphasized Grant Jones, CEO of Meals on Wheels Metro Boise. “This time of the year is traditionally a slower time for donations, and this match will have a huge effect on our fast-growing program.”
Celebrating Meals on Wheels
One in six seniors in America faces hunger or food insecurity on a regular basis. That translates to more than 60,000 seniors in Idaho who struggle with hunger.
Meals on Wheels Metro Boise delivers and serves more than 2,000 meals each weekday to homebound seniors throughout Ada County, Emmett, Middleton, McCall, and Caldwell. We also serve congregate meals in senior centers in Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Kuna, Star, Marsing, and McCall as well as Northgate Senior Village and Samaritan Village in Boise.
“The food is critical to the seniors, but Meals on Wheels is much more than a meal to them,” said Grant Jones, CEO of Meals on Wheels Metro Boise. “90% say it makes them feel more safe and secure, 81% say it improves their health, and 92% say it enables them to remain independent at home with their pets.”
“Everyone is invited to walk in the March for Meals, as we strive for over 1,000 marchers each year,” said Jones. “A half hour of time can mean a nutritious meal for a homebound senior – and the nation’s largest march.”
